movies: Does an actors/directors politics change the way you think of a film?

Like if your watching a film and you get the feeling the movie is trying to prove a point about politics by making one party or another look bad does that take away from your liking of the movie?

I ask because I read an article about "green zone" with matt damon and it said the movie had political undertones about the war etc..
I never seen it but it made me think.

Yes, sometimes. It can be with religion as well. I don't like religion, I don't like hearing about religion, but then when I'm watching Signs and it starts getting all bible-friendly I lose a bit of respect...but still an awesome movie.

BQ3: I watched Hot Tub Time Machine going to England last summer and hated it, of course I had some meds because I hate flying so that could've put me off it. But I think that it's next in my Netflix Queue...AND THEN DOUBT )

Sergeant Miller with his unit searches for the Americans occupied Baghdad on weapons of mass destruction, because of which wage war. But all the locations specified in the exploration, are then abandoned warehouse plumbing, the housing court. Miller begins to doubt, but whether all weapons of mass destruction.
